Punk deluxe – let’s call him Junior

A week-long crime spree in the North End of Winnipeg.

Three shootings. One man injured. A raid of a “family home” on Boyd Avenue, netting at least two guns, one of which was stolen from outside the city at some point.

Naturally, you can’t have a Winnipeg story about a 15-year-old thug without the following:

“The boy in custody … is being held at the Manitoba Youth Centre and is facing a long list of charges including … failing to comply with the conditions of a prior youth sentence.

He’s been around the justice system block before, the cops say.

For the sake of randomness, let’s call him Junior.

I’m making a commitment to follow Junior’s case through the court system, to look at Junior’s background and how the legal system treats him.

I’ll report back soon.
